Privacy Policy

BigBase is convinced that protecting the privacy of its clients and the visitors to its websites is essential to its activities. The personal data of clients and visitors is therefore handled and secured with the greatest possible care. BigBase complies with the requirements set by the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and other privacy legislation.

The party responsible for the data processing is Mr D. Tiems, BigBase, Zaanstraat 18, Geleen. In accordance with the law, the processing of personal data has, where required, been registered with the supervisory authority, the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

Processing of personal data

As part of our services we record data, only after explicit consent. This is the case when you take out a subscription to a publication or newsletter, attend a conference or follow a course, order a publication, use our (interactive) services, hold an online customer account, express your interest or otherwise make your interest known, or are otherwise in contact with us. We only retain data that we genuinely need for the proper running of our business, such as contact details, payment data, invoicing data, ordered products, role data and/or stated interests.

We use this data to perform and settle the relevant agreement, for our other services and internal business operations, and to keep customers informed about our (new) products and services and those of our group companies. We do not sell your data. It is only shared with the service providers that help us run our website, handle your enquiry and measure our own advertising — see ‘Click behaviour and IP address’ below.

We make a list of sub-processors available with whom we have concluded an agreement for access to the necessary data.

Your email address

If you have provided your email address, for example to receive a newsletter, it may be used to inform you as a customer about similar products and services that are relevant and of interest to you. If you no longer wish to receive these, you can unsubscribe at any time.

It is also possible that you have consented to your email address being used to occasionally receive information relevant to you about products, offers and promotions from and by us or other companies. These companies are carefully selected by us.

Unsubscribing

We take your preferences into account when providing our services and information. In many cases we give you the option to indicate these yourself, for example on your own interests page or your own account. If you wish to change the way we use your data, or you would like to be removed from our records entirely, you can always let us know via our contact form.

Access to and correction of your data

You can review the personal information we hold about you. If the information is incorrect, you can request that it be amended. Such requests for access to or correction of your data can be addressed directly to us via the email address you will find on our contact page. You can also contact us there if you have any questions about the way we handle your data.

Click behaviour and IP address

General visit data is recorded on our websites without identifying visitors. The purpose of this is to optimise the layout of the website. This data may also be used to place more targeted information on the site. In this way we can further optimise our services to you. To do this we only use anonymous, non-identifiable information, unless you have given explicit consent. Your IP address is therefore never used without your consent.

We do not use Google Analytics or any comparable general statistics service.

We do advertise through OpenAI’s advertising platform. For that we use the GPT Ads Pixel, which registers when you successfully submit one of our forms — a quote request, for example — and attributes that enquiry to the campaign that brought you to our website. This tells us which campaigns are worth continuing; it is not used to build a profile of you, and we do not make automated decisions about you on the basis of it. The event records that an enquiry was made, not the content of your message. The data collected for this attribution is processed by OpenAI under their business data and privacy terms. Use of cookies

Cookies are small pieces of information (files) that a website leaves on your computer. The website instructs the web browser you use to view websites (for example Chrome, Firefox or Edge) to store these cookies on your computer. There are two types of cookies. Session cookies are removed from your computer as soon as you close your web browser. Permanent cookies remain on your computer, even after you close your web browser. More about our cookies.
